Because that includes travel (airfare), housing, and food....it's not a bad amount. If you want to go, you should definitely try to save up and go.
2 :
make sure yew save up to buy stuff to, just going there for site is fun , but remember to bring bak sumthin, 3000 just covers what yew said, but be sure to save up for other things, you dun wanna get caught with nu money when yew want sumthing.
3 :
It is a pretty good price for such a trip when it includes return flight, accommodation and food, but it seems to me that the school could do even better with a group rate, depending on what accommodation and food they choose.
4 :
If the 3000 includes flights, it would be good.
5 :
It depends on the quality of the detailed content.

No, those are American traditions.
2 :
Yes we have proms in Britain I believe at the end of Y11 and the 6th form. Our education system and things associated with it seem to be going very American so I wouldn't be surprised if Japan had the same thing going on with it.
3 :
They have proms in the USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Argentina, Austria, Chile, Colombia, Brazil, Egypt, Finland, Germany, India, Ireland, Lithuania, Malaysia, Peru, Pakistan, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Turkey :)

Your best bet is try schools set on US Military bases.
2 :
Why should there be American school? This is Japan. US military base has some. But they are only for children of military personnels. What you say does not make sense at all.
3 :
I can teach you some nasty stuff for free!
4 :
Uh here's this one that I looked up a few years back. I was planning on going but I didn't have the money. I think it costs as much as studying abroad to an international school. I hope this helped.
5 :
No, all the international schools are private and the only American school around Tokyo, which is not public, is the most expensive one (ASIJ, American School In Japan). You can't go to school on the military base because you aren't family of the military. I have heard that there are some Japanese kids who do to go school on the base, but they have to pay a lot as well.

Moving to Japan for senior year of High School

Moving to Japan for senior year of High School?
I am a sixteen year old girl from the USA. My level of Japanese should be high by the time the next school year starts in Japan. I was wondering if it would be possible for me to enter into a Japanese High School for 3rd year only this coming April. If it were, I would need to find a family already living in Japan who would let me legally become their "dependant" for the year. Is this possible (I don't care about it being probable), and if so, where might I find such a family? In any case, I plan to attend a Japanese University regardless of where I graduated from high school.

Talk to the person in your school that manages that stuff-- the one in our school also manages scholarships and things to do with college. Also, he would find the family. It may cost a large amount of money though, so make sure you've saved up.

>I would need to find a family already living in Japan who would let me legally become their "dependant" for the year. Is this possible No. You are not talking about homestay program, are you? What kind of Japanese family lets a kid from another country stay with them for 1 entire year? Japanese family likes to have Japanese kids even if they "adopt" kids, not American kids. Or if you want to find American families living in Japan, try to find it. I don't know how. If you want to attend Japanese school, why don't you ask this on Yahoo! Answer Japan? If you can't ask it, you cannot go to Japanese high school.
