There are few scholarships in Japan. But public high schools are now tuition free. So it does not take much money . There are few boarding high schools in Japan. You can't join a high school without taking its entrance exams. You need to learn 2,000 kanji which kids are supposed to learn before high school.

You need to learn that you have a hard row to hoe. A quick search on Japanese boarding schools yielded squat in the top spots. Hopefully you tried this before asking but did a more thorough investigation of the links than I did. It's been pointed out by another user that doesn't think that there are that many. Good luck with someone giving you a link. They will be expensive if they exist. Do you have that kind of money just for high school? Lastly, and has been pointed out, regular high schools are an option. But living in an apartment is the least of your worries. It's learning to speak, read and write Japanese on a level suitable for passing the exam. Not to mention knowing what you need to know in order to pass the test. I, personally, think this is a pipe-dream. As such, POP!!! goes the pipe-dream.

It is very possible for you to be able to do this. First of all, yes, there are not very many boarding schools in Japan. Also, you wont find almost any dorms there because they just don't have many. Most students live at home with their parents (yes, even in college) and just commute. Students even travel as long as two hours to get to school sometimes! Back to your question, what I think you may be asking about/interested in is a High School Exchange program. Basically, apply through a program, pay your fees, then get shipped off to stay with a Japanese host family and live with them throughout the duration of your stay. At least, that's how most of the programs work. This is one of the more popular ways for students to study in Japan for a year or so. I actually know people who have done this, so its quite possible. However, the first step is getting accepted to a program. Good luck!

My wife attending this high school. They do have a dorm for living at the school. Sorry, but girls only. http://www.spr-sacred-heart.ed.jp/ However, if you can't read that homepage, then you're obviously not going to be attending there. It's going to be that way for any school in Japan. Unless you can speak native level Japanese, you need to give up your little pipe dream.

In Incheon, there is Incheon Design High School (InDiGo). Very famous and ullzzang Han Su Hyun graduated from here. However it is a school where you have to apply/take test and I believe you'd have to be a citizen of Korea. In Colleges good colleges with good design program is basically all but top ones (from Naver) is êµë¯¼ëŒ€í•™êµ ì˜ìƒë””ìžì´ë„ˆí•™ê³¼,,서울여ìžëŒ€í•™êµ ì˜ë¥˜í•™ê³¼, ì„±ì‹ ì—¬ìžëŒ€ ì˜ë¥˜í•™ê³¼ -Guk Min University -Seoul Women's University -Seong Shin Women's University But I would rethink going to Korea! You need a LOT of money and time, and it would very much help to be fluent (at least high school level) in Korean. Good luck though ^^

My friend Hitomi and are are going to Japan for 6 months and we are still in high school. We were wondering if you have to pay the enrollment fee while entering a Japanese High school.

You're going to have to ask the High School in Japan.

It is my understanding that to go on a student visa not only do you have to have enrollement in a school (and you can't just walk in and enroll..the system there does not work that way) but you will have to provide proof that you have all of your living and school exspenses in an account already. The rules may be different if you are going through an official exchange program...and they can answer all those questions for you. But before making plans, you need to do a lot of research and be sure you have all that you need. Six months is a long time for two teenage girls to spend half way around the world!

You have to go through an exchange program if you want to attend a japanese high school. You should talk to your guidance counselor and do some research. The process may be easier for you because you are a high schooler, but I am pretty sure you cannot work in Japan so your parents have to have adequate proof of funding for your personal expenses. If you are going to Japan for schooling, you have to be enrolled in the school PRIOR to obtaining the student visa, you can't just get one; you have to have proof you are enrolled at a Japanese school to even get the student visa. High School Exchange Programs: http://www.twoworldsunited.com/student_exchange_program_description.html good luck! im going out there soon!

It's not that simple. Japanese high school don't accept tourists only for several month. And high schools in Japan usually require students to have admission exam. Check out exchange programs if you really wanna join the school. And certain VISA is necessary for 6 month staying in Japan.
